Friends of UKSTAR – BCS SIGiST Practical Risk-Based Testing Workshop

BCS SIGIST (Special Interest Group in Software Testing) Practical Risk-Based Testing Workshop

On Friday 1st December, the SIGiST hosted an afternoon workshop, presented by internationally renowned software testing expert and author Erik van Veenendaal.

Erik introduced the delegates to the concept of, and main steps in, Risk-Based Testing.  He discussed product risk assessment using the PRISMA approach, and after a tea & coffee break with mince pies, the delegates got down to undertaking their own PRISMA risk assessments with Erik providing guidance.  Everyone was fully involved and got time to discuss the finer details with Erik.

Following a comprehensive feedback and discussion session, Erik continued with the PRISMA approach and how to perform an assessment using risk-poker in an Agile environment.

The afternoon was very interactive, with everyone having a really good time, and learning something that they could easily apply on their return to the office

A short quiz followed at the end of the session where three winners were presented with copies of some of Erik’s books.
