January is over which means the countdown is on! 4 Weeks to go to UKSTAR 2019, we can hardly believe it!
We are delighted to present a returning favourite to UKSTAR, Magnus Pettersson! Magnus has been involved in testing for over 10 years. He has tested everything from hardware to firmware to desktop, mobile and web applications. He is currently working as a test leader, testing various traffic systems. Much of his free time is spent doing some kind of storytelling.
Magnus will be presenting a Deep Dive at this years conference ‘Improvised Storytelling for the Modern Tester‘
Join Magnus at his Deep Dive, be sure to book your tickets ASAP as it is proving very popular and spaces are really filling up!!
Here’s what Magnus has to say..
What inspired you to develop this topic as a talk?
It was during last years UKSTAR in the “Empowering people through play” workshop, where I started thinking that the workshop format would be a fun way to learn and develop storytelling skills.
One tip for anyone starting out in software testing?
No one is perfect in the beginning. Mistakes will be made. The best you can do is learn from them. That will make you a great tester in the end.
If you were on a deserted island and could only bring one item with you, which would it be and why?
A good knife. It’s probably one of the most useful tools in that situation
What is the future of software testing?
Hard to say. I think we will see a heavy reliance on automation and a will from management to automate everything. I do however think that in the end it will prove to be best with a good balance between manual and automated tests.
Join Magnus Pettersson at UKSTAR 2019 for his Deep Dive. Remember, the spaces are filling up for this so be sure to book soon to avoid disappointment!
