Software Security Expert and Leader, Amazon

As a Principal Consultant in Security, Risk, and Compliance for Amazon Web Services, Paco Hope helps enterprise customers migrate and develop workloads securely on AWS. Prior to joining Amazon, Mr Hope was the Principal Security Evangelist for Cigital, a global software security consultancy. His experience spans several vertical industries, including financial services, online retail, online gaming, and embedded systems (with a bit of IoT). Paco has helped numerous software firms develop software securely, or modify their software development lifecycles (SDLCs) to incorporate important security principles throughout.

Mr. Hope believes in the accessibility and integral nature of security testing in normal functional, integration, and user acceptance testing. In addition to holding both the CISSP and CSSLP certifications, Mr Hope writes the questions for both exams and helps shape the certifications’ contents. As a member of (ISC)²’s European Advisory Council, he helps local chapters reach out and create communities of information security professionals.

He received a B.S. in Computer Science and English from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and a Masters of Computer Science from The University of Virginia. Mr. Hope, is an active member several London and global information security communities, including dc4420 and OWASP. He lives in the London metro area and can be found on Twitter at @pacohope.
